You never pay. The parent invites you.

Join free when your student's parent invites you. There is nothing for a tutor to buy, no trial that runs out, and no seat to pay for. The parent sends you a code for one named child, you redeem it, they approve it, and you are in.

What you get is the week your student is actually having: what school has set, what is due and when, the timetable, and when the exams are along with which revision topics are still unticked. So you stop losing the first fifteen minutes of every session to "what did Miss give you?" You can set work for that child too, and log your sessions.

The first fifteen minutes

Every tutor knows this part of the hour.

The child arrives. You ask what school has set. They are not sure, think there was something for Thursday, cannot remember whether the test is next week or the week after. So the first quarter of an hour the family is paying for goes on reconstructing a list that already exists somewhere: in a group chat you are not in, an email you never received, a diary that is in the bag or is not.

With a tutor link you open the same list the family sees before the session starts, and you arrive knowing which chapters are unticked and what is due on Thursday.

How the invitation works

Three steps, and the parent controls all of them.

  • The parent sends you a code. Usually on WhatsApp, in the conversation you are already having. Each code is minted for one named child.
  • You redeem it and they approve you. Two steps on purpose: a code can be forwarded or read over a shoulder, so redeeming grants nothing until the parent confirms it was you.
  • They can end it whenever they like. The link belongs to the family. Two siblings are two separate links, so ending one never quietly ends the other.

One thing worth knowing before you ask: sending a tutor invite is part of the paid family plan, so a family on the free receive-only tier will not see the button. New accounts get a free trial of the paid plan, so most families can send you a code the same evening.

What you see, and what you do not

One child, in full. The boundary is the reason parents are willing to invite you.

  • You see: that child's homework and classwork with dates, their timetable, their exams and which revision topics remain, and the work you have set them.
  • You do not see: siblings, anything else in that household, or any other family. A separate invitation is needed for each child, from each parent.
  • There is no open chat. Comments attach to a specific piece of work, so there is no freeform channel between an adult and a child.

Your first family is free, and stays free for as long as you tutor that child. Beyond that first family, one subscription covers every family you tutor and every class you teach, however many there are. Running your own group in AllSet, a batch you teach where you publish work to everyone at once, is the class side of the product. Your first class is free, up to sixty students. A second class, or a sixty-first student, is what ₹249 / month covers, which is aimed at full-time tutors and batch coaches rather than at someone taking two children after school.

Does a tutor have to pay for AllSet?

How do I get access to my student's planner?

What can I actually see?

Yes. You can set work for the child you were invited for and log your sessions, and it lands in the same list as everything else, so the family is not tracking your homework separately from school's.
Can the parent remove me?
At any time, and without asking anyone. The link belongs to the family. Ending one child's link never affects a sibling's, because each is a separate link.
What does the paid tutor plan cover, then?
