Which homework planner should you actually use?
It depends on what is going wrong. If the problem is that nobody can find what is due, because it arrives in a group chat, an email, a tuition notebook and a timetable on the fridge, then you want a planner that understands a school week, where homework has a subject, an exam is a list of topics, and the timetable says what to pack. If your child already runs their own system reliably, a general to-do app is enough. For fees, attendance and report cards, use the school's own app; nothing replaces it. A paper diary still works for a child who writes things down and reads them back.

When each of the others is the right answer
Three cases where AllSet is not what you need, stated plainly.
- A general to-do app, if your child is old enough to run their own system and already does. The reason to change is not tidiness. It is that nobody can find what is due. If everyone can, you have solved it.
- The school's own app, for anything official. Fees, attendance, circulars, report cards, transport. AllSet holds none of those and should not.
- A paper diary, for a child who writes everything down and reads it back the same evening. It is free and it works. Watch for the specific way it fails: a blank page and an evening with no homework look exactly alike.
What to look for, whichever you choose
Five questions worth asking of any planner aimed at children.
- Does it rank children against each other? A leaderboard turns a planner into a competition the slowest child cannot win. AllSet has none, anywhere.
- Does it show ads? The user is a child. AllSet has no ads, no advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics.
- What happens to the data, and can you delete it? Under India's DPDP Act a child's data needs a named grievance officer, a stated retention period and a route to deletion. Ask for all three. Ours are on the trust page.
- Will someone phone you? Handing over a child's name and school should not start a sales call. Nobody from AllSet will call you.
- Does it survive changing schools? A tool tied to one school ends when the school does.

- What should a homework planner do that a to-do app does not?
- Understand a school week. Homework belongs to a subject and a teacher. An exam is not one task but a list of topics to revise. A timetable decides which books go in the bag tomorrow. A general to-do app has none of those ideas, so a parent ends up building them by hand every term.
- Is the school's own app not enough?
- It is the right place for fees, attendance, circulars and report cards, and nothing replaces it for those. What it usually will not hold is the rest of the child's week: tuition work, a coaching class, the exam revision plan, football on Tuesday. It also stops at the school gate, so a child changing schools starts again.
- Is a paper diary worse?
- Not for every child. It is free, it needs no phone, and for a child who writes everything down and reads it back it works. It fails in specific ways: it is at school when the question is at home, it cannot remind anyone, a parent cannot see it from work, and a page that is not filled in looks identical to an evening with no homework.

- Which devices does it work on?
- Android, from Google Play. Everything else runs in a browser, and on an iPhone or iPad you add it to the home screen from Safari. There is no App Store version. Once it is on the home screen it opens without a signal, though saving a change needs a connection.
- Can I use one account for two or three children?
- Yes, up to three, each with their own planner, subjects and timetable. You switch between them without signing out, and brothers and sisters never see each other's work.
